Ganesha Festival celebrations on Aug. 27: Pollution Board, MCC to provide mobile tankers for idol immersion

Mysuru: With Ganesha festival to be celebrated on Aug. 27, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has issued a notification on the guidelines for immersion of Ganesha idols in mobile immersion tankers on the evening of Aug. 27, the schedule of which is as follows:

4 pm to 5.15 pm: Near Metagalli Police Station on KRS Road, near Vikram Hospital in Yadavagiri and at Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyana Mantapa in Kuvempunagar.

5.30 pm to 6.45 pm: Near K.D. Circle in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, near Shanthala Theatre on N.S. Road and near Jayanagar Railway Gate.

7 pm to 8.15 pm: Near Mathru Mandali in Vontikoppal, at Chamundipuram Circle and at Gobbalimara Bus Stop in J.P. Nagar.

8.30 pm to 10.30 pm: Kukkarahalli Lake main entrance, Karanji Lake main entrance and Lingambudhi Lake main entrance (Via Srirampura).

Lakshman (Mob: 98453-07419) for stoppings near Kuvempunagar  Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyana Mantapa, Jayanagar Railway Gate, J.P. Nagar Gobbalimara Bus Stop and Lingambudhi Lake main entrance, according to a KSPCB press release.

MCC to provide water tankers

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) will also provide mobile water tankers at prominent Circles and streets coming under the jurisdiction of its 9 Zonal Offices, to facilitate immersions of Ganesha idols on three days — Aug. 27, 28 and 31.

To coordinate the process of idol immersion, the MCC has deployed its Environment Engineers and Health Supervisors. Details are as follows:
