9 ft. tall statue of Gen. Thimayya to be installed near Kodava Samaja soon

Mysuru: The 119th birth anniversary of Gen. K.S. Thimayya was celebrated at Kodava Samaja in Vijayanagar, here this morning by offering floral tributes to his portrait.

Speaking on the occasion, Samaja Secretary K.A. Belliappa announced that a 9 ft. tall statue of Gen. Thimayya would be unveiled near the Kodava Samaja during July this year and added that a work order for Rs. 4.5 lakh had been issued for the same.

Gen. Thimayya, who served the Indian Army in various capacities, was an inspiration to youths, he said adding that the installation of his statue would be a befitting tribute to him. 

Kodava Samaja Vice-President M.P. Nanaiah, Treasurer Kashiyappa, members N.B. Kaverappa, P.K. Biddappa and others were present on the occasion.
