Girl allegedly murdered, burnt by miscreants

Bettadapura: A girl, aged between 18 and 20 years has been allegedly murdered and her body was set on fire next to Kelluru Harangi Canal bund adjacent to K.R. Nagar-Ravandur Main Road in Periyapatna taluk. 

Villagers, who found the body still burning with the upper portion charred on Sunday morning, informed the Police. Police said that, as the villagers found the body still in flames, it is suspected that miscreants may have set the body ablaze between 4 am and 5 am on Sunday. The body, from head to waist has been charred and the pink leggings she was wearing had caught fire. She was also found wearing silver anklets and  imitation bangles and earrings, Police added.

Superintendent of Police (SP) C.B. Ryshyanth, Hunsur Dy.SP Sundar Raj, Periyapatna Circle Inspector B.R. Pradeep, Sub-Inspector Tippareddy, Bettadapura Sub-Inspector Panchakshari and Bylakuppe Sub-Inspector Puttaraju visited the spot. A case has been registered at Periyapatna Police Station.
