Girl cheated of Rs. 1.45 lakh

Mysore/Mysuru: A conman, who lured a 20-year-old girl of earning more money through part time job, has cheated her of Rs. 1.45 lakh.

The girl, who was cheated, is Swathi, a resident of Saraswathipuram in city.

The conman, who contacted the girl on her WhatsApp number, had stated that she could earn good money by doing a part time job and asked her to transfer Rs. 200 to a bank account. Later, stating that she had earned a profit, the conman then deposited Rs. 310 to her bank account to make her believe and took her into confidence.

In the later days, the conman got a total of Rs. 1.45 lakh transferred in stages to the bank account but did not pay her the profit nor returned the money, thus cheating her.

City’s Cyber, Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
