‘Give technical approval for Arjuna Circle in city’

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar submitting a memorandum to Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Mysuru recently.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, has urged Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, to appoint a Project Management Advisor to provide technical approval for the proposed development of Arjuna Circle in front of LIC Divisional Office in Bannimantap in the city.

Yaduveer, has submitted a memorandum in this regard to Union Minister Shekhawat, during his visit to participate in Mysore Travel Mart, at Jagannatha Centre for Art and Culture (JCAC), Vijayanagar in the city.

It was brought to the notice of Union Minister, the Central Government has sanctioned Rs. 20 crore grants for the project, planned in commemoration of legendary howdah-carrier elephant Arjuna, that had participated in Jumboo Savari organised as part of Nada Habba Dasara for several years.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) contains world class design,  architecture, traffic management and development of island, with the timely execution of the project, awaiting technical approval, Yaduveer Wadiyar has explained.

 Besides, Yaduveer has also urged the Union Minister to provide grants for the complete restoration of historical Madikeri Fort, along with its conservation and technical upgradation. The good old structure, that stands testimony to the history, culture and architectural grandeur of the bygone era, will be attracting thousands of tourists throughout the year, he opined.

Under the Tourism and Heritage Development scheme, a survey of historical structures should be taken up and provided adequate funds for their restoration, establishment of museum, digital information system and multi-language audio guide, sound and light show, environmental friendly footpaths, beautification, parking and facilities for public, demanded Yaduveer Wadiyar.
