Gold jewellery worth about Rs. 5 lakh looted from Public Prosecutor’s house

Mysuru: House burglars, who gained entry into the house of a Public Prosecutor, have decamped with gold jewellery worth about Rs.5 lakh from the house.

The burglary took place in the house of P.S. Muthamma at HUDCO Layout in N.R. Mohalla in city. Muthamma is the Special Public Prosecutor of ACB and Lokayukta.

The burglars, who gained entry into the house by breaking open the rear door, have decamped with gold jewellery kept in the almirah. Muthamma, who had to attend a marriage ceremony had brought the jewels kept in a Bank locker to her house.

Muthamma, on Dec.22, had locked the house and had gone out of station along with her family and the incident came to light when she returned the next day and saw the rear door of the house forcibly opened.

On inspecting the house, she found the gold jewels kept in the almirah missing and immediately lodged a complaint with N.R. Police in this regard.

N.R. Police, based on the complaint, have registered a case and are investigating.

Complaint lodged against house maid for theft

In another incident, a resident of V.V. Puram has lodged a complaint against the house maid for stealing gold finger ring and other things from his house.

The person, who has lodged a complaint, has been identified as B.A. Chengappa. In his complaint, Chengappa has stated that the house maid Priyanka, a resident of Kumbarakoppal, has stolen a gold finger ring weighing about 4.8 grams, sweater and other things from his house.

V.V. Puram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
