‘Good feelings of society should be propagated, not shortcomings of religion’

An overview of Dr. Latha Rajashekar’s ‘Pancha Mahakavya’

Mysuru: District Sharana Sahitya Parishat had organised a programme at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here recently for an overview of ‘Pancha Mahakavya’ written by Dr. Latha Rajashekar.

Inaugurating the programme, State Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Manu Baligar opined that ‘Pancha Mahakavya’ was an eye-opener to depict propagation of good feelings in society instead of portraying shortcomings of religion.

He observed that feelings on country, language, border, religion and caste were weakening relationship across world.

He commended the epic broughtout by Dr. Latha Rajashekar, who has focussed on Basavanna, Buddha, Jesus, Mahaveer and Sri Rama and observed that evolving such a work with confluence of thoughts of such great personalities was not an easy task which just shows the literary excellence of the author.

Dr. Nilgiri M. Talwar, Professor of Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS), presided.

Dakshina Kannada ZP CEO  Dr. M.R. Ravi, JSS College Assistant Professor Dr. Nandish Hanche, District Sharana Sahitya Parishat President M. Chandrashekar, poetess Dr. Latha Rajeshekar, Parishat Chief Convenor B.M. Ramachandra and others were present.

Senior Litterateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) was felicitated on the occasion.
