Mysuru: Accusing the doctors of negligence, family members and relatives of a woman who died a couple of hours after giving birth to a baby, staged a demonstration in front of Cheluvamba Hospital here this morning.

Rajamani (38), a resident of Brindavan Extension in city and wife of Palaniswamy, a software company employee at Bengaluru, is the deceased.

Rajamani, who was pregnant with her third child, was admitted to Cheluvamba Hospital at 4 pm yesterday after she complained of labour pain.

Rajamani gave birth to a baby girl at 3.30 am today, when she was said to be healthy.

But the new born infant was shifted to JSS Hospital for want of an incubator. Meanwhile, Rajamani developed post-delivery complications and died at around 6 am this morning.

Meanwhile, the condition of the new born infant, which was brought back from JSS Hospital to Cheluvamba Hospital, is said to be critical, according to hospital sources.

Soon after the doctors announced the death of Rajamani, her family members and relatives staged a demonstration demanding action against the doctors for negligence.

Devaraja Police who have registered a Medico-Legal Case (MLC), are investigating.
