Gram Panchayat employees to stage demonstration on Aug.9

Mysuru:  Seeking fulfilment of demands, the Mysuru District Unit of Karnataka State Gram Panchayat Employees Association, attached to CITU, will stage a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office here at 11 am on Aug.9.

The demands include promotion to Bill Collectors who have served for over 10 years, pension, medical and other statutory benefits, introduction of service rules for Gram Panchayat employees on the lines of the one in Urban Development Department, up-gradation of Gram Panchayats from Grade-2 to Grade-1 based on the 2011 population census and a minimum wage of Rs.18,000, among others.
