Group clash at Saligrama: Two more accused arrested

Saligrama: The Police, who had arrested six persons in connection with a  clash that broke out between two groups over a trivial issue at Saligrama in the taluk on Thursday (Dec.12), have arrested two more persons bringing the total number of arrests to eight.

The two accused, identified as Raju and Sanju, have been remanded to judicial custody. 

Four Police teams have been formed to nab the remaining accused and the Police have collected the footages of CCTV cameras installed on main roads and circles besides collecting the video of the group clash that had gone viral on social media.

Saligrama has come back to normalcy with shops and other commercial establishments conducting business as usual. 

As a precautionary measure, Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) battalion and District Armed Reserve (DAR) Police have been stationed at vantage points to prevent any untoward incident and the Police are conducting their regular beat in the town.
