H.V. Shantha (85),  a retired teaching  faculty of  Mahajana High School, Jayalakshmipuram  and a resident of Saraswathipuram 14th Main, passed away in the early hours of today in city.

She had authored several books in Kannada and was a patron of music, art and literature.

She leaves behind her husband Venkat Ram, a retired Railway Workshop employee, son V. Ganesh, Principal of Hari Vidyalaya in city and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon.
