Mysuru: Former MP A.H. Vishwanath, who quit Congress, has announced that he would be joining JD(S) on July 4 at 11 am at the party office in Bengaluru in the presence of former Prime Minister and JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda and former Chief Minister and State JD(S) President H.D. Kumaraswamy.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, Vishwanath said: “I am only changing Jhanda (flag) and not my agenda which continues to be working for the backward class. I am indebted to Congress and cherish my long stay there. I have no enemies in either JD(S) or BJP.”
Continuing, Vishwanath said that he has convened a meeting of Congress and JD(S) activists tomorrow in K.R. Nagar to exchange views and thoughts regarding his joining JD(S).
Former Zilla Panchayat Vice-President Channabasappa, former Corporator R. Somasunder and others were present at the press meet.
