Half-cut bodies case: Mandya District Police announces Rs. 1 lakh prize for information on accused

Mandya: Mandya Superintendent of Police (SP) Yatish has announced a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh to those who provide clues or information about the accused in the half-cut bodies cases. The half-cut bodies of two women were found at Pandavapura and near Arakere in Srirangapatna.

In a press release, the SP has stated that on June 7, a half-cut (lower half) body of an unidentified woman, aged between 30 and 32 years, was found in the waters of Kerekodiya Katte in Pandavapura taluk and on the same day, another half-cut body (lower half) of an unidentified woman was found in the paddy fields near Arakere in Srirangapatna taluk.

In both the cases, the women were murdered elsewhere and to destroy evidences, the miscreants had dumped the bodies in water at two places in Mandya district. Both the murders are similar and the half-cut bodies were wrapped in cloths and dumped in water. The upper-half of both bodies are still not found.

Though the Police have distributed pamphlets pertaining to the case in Mandya, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Tumakuru and also in neighbouring States Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, the Cops are still unable to get information about the accused in the case. Hence, the Police have come forward to trace the accused with the help of the public.
