Happy neighbourhood

June 10, 2019

Creating happiness and harmony is the primary consideration while adapting Feng Shui. Happiness and a harmony within a home or work place is very important to bring out the best within the individual. Similarly, creating a harmonious home which has a good energy in turn creates a happy relationship within the neighbourhood.

At times one may find that the vibes with the immediate neighbours is not pleasant and shows cracks in relationship and creates discord. Creating a happy environment ensures that the vibes around the home are invigorating and draw in good energy which in turn creates a healthy relationship with the surroundings. Feng Shui is not required for the neighbours we like and mingle, but it can be a place of refuge when you have troublesome neighbours.

All homes have a connect with the neighbourhood and its quite common to have a very friendly and good neighbour or someone who is unfriendly or hostile too. In some of the countries in South Asia, it is quite common for people to take drastic measures when the energy from a neighbouring building threatens their businesses and livelihoods. However, from Feng Shui perspective it is not advisable to adapt strong remedies but adapt methods to neutralise hostility. When there is serious negative energy emanating toward you from your neighbours, it pays to give more attention to your Feng Shui.

For an apartment dwelling, if the problem is from a neighbour who is directly across, then crystals suspended between the doors or pathway can diffuse the negative forces between the homes. However, if it’s from the side neighbour, suspend metal wind chime if its right neighbour or place image of metal dragoon with a healthy plant on the left of your door if it’s a left neighbour.

For Homes, which are on landed property, the methods are many and one can adapt what is apt for the situation. All the simple suggestions are to harmonise the energy and create good vibes hence any of the remedy or a combination of more than one is also effective.

• Shine bright lights along the side you have hostility or place a large urn of water on the boundary wall or direction of the hostile neighbours home to absorb the bad vibes . The Yin water will absorb negative feelings, bad vibes and soften the relationship.

• Suspend metal trinkets or metal wind chimes to create a happy or harmonious energy.

• You can paint your side of the house which has the hostile neighbour shades of bright white or even decorating with colourful artefacts, smooth crystals etc.

• Tall healthy plants and an array of plants blooming colourful flowers would create Yang energy and transform the hostile effect.

Apart from the Feng Shui approach top mitigate hostility, it is important to also empower the thoughts with positivity and wishing well for the neighbours even if they are hostile as the combined effect of Feng Shui corrections and the positivity in the thoughts will hasten the process and create good harmony which in turn will bring in a new friendship and bondage with the neighbours.
