Head Mistress booked for cheating School management

October 18, 2017

Mysuru: A Head Mistress of a school has been booked for allegedly cheating the school management of more than Rs. 7 lakh. The Police have booked a case against C. Renuka, former Head Mistress of Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, following a complaint lodged by Rotary West Mysore.

The Police said that Renuka has been accused of illegally collecting Rs. 7,48,910 as students admission fee from parents during 2016-17 academic year.

It is said that Renuka, who was appointed as the Head Mistress during January 2016, misguided the parents and collected the fees but never remitted the same to school account.

The incident came to light during August, 2017 when the management conducted an enquiry after learning that most of the students had not paid the fees.

The school authorities sent letters to the parents asking them to pay the fees. In turn, the parents informed the management that they had paid the fees to  Head Mistress.

When enquired, Renuka, the Head Mistress, confessed to have collected the fees but promised to return the same within few days, but failed. She kept on buying time and the school management which had already given her maximum time, filed a complaint with the Saraswathipuram Police.

On receiving the complaint, Inspector Nagegowda called Renuka to the Police Station and interrogated her during which Renuka is said to have sought some more time to return the amount.

She is also said to have sent messages to the school management committee members seeking time until Tuesday (Oct.24) to return the money.
