Mysore/Mysuru: Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar in association with Philips India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support 300 subsidised heart surgeries for 2023-24.
The beneficiaries are from Below Poverty Line (BPL) category requiring open heart surgeries. This programme was launched on July 1, 2023 by Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICSR), Bengaluru and till date 43 surgeries have been completed.
As part of this programme, the second phase was launched at Mysuru yesterday (Sept. 5) in the presence of Dr. K.S. Sadananda, Medical Superintendent of SJICSR, Mysuru.
Under this, it is proposed to perform 70 heart surgeries at Mysuru. Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar through Philips India will provide Rs. 1.05 crore towards these surgeries.
Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar President Balakrishnan Narayanan, Past Presidents Peeyush Jain, M. Jagadeesh and Dr. A.V. Srikanth were in Mysuru yesterday for the commencement of the programme.
