High-capacity EV charging station opens at Koorgalli

August 18, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Managing Director K.M. Munigopal Raju inaugurated a newly established high-capacity private Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in Mysuru.

A statement from CESC said the charging station at Aditya Tech Park in Koorgalli Industrial Area in Mysuru is equipped with two high-capacity hubs of 180 kw each.

Set up by Bengaluru-based Epic Enterprises in collaboration with Zeon Electric, the facility is located within the Aditya Tech Park premises at Koorgalli Industrial Area. This marks Mysuru district’s first high-capacity dedicated e-bus charging centre, equipped with two high-capacity hubs.

With EV adoption gaining momentum nationwide, Karnataka presently hosts 5,880 public charging stations. Mysuru, emerging as a Tier-2 EV hub, is now home to 57 public charging stations and 20 private facilities.

“The future will see a significant rise in electric vehicle usage. Expanding EV charging infrastructure will greatly benefit the public,” said Munigopal Raju, adding that CESC is considering the creation of a dedicated EV Cell to facilitate the transition to electric mobility.

He also urged citizens to embrace green mobility as a step towards sustainable energy. Zeon Electric has established itself as a leader in EV charging infrastructure. The company operates more than 450 stations across South India, with 99 percent strategically located along highways and tourist destinations.

The inauguration was attended by D.J. Divakar, Director of CESC’s Technical Division; Ramaswamy, General Manager of CESC’s IT and MIS Division; G. Sheila, former Managing Director of CESC; Akhil Krishnan, Head of Zeon Charging and Chirag and Vishal from Epic Enterprises, Bengaluru.
