December 21, 2020

Bengaluru: Here is some good news for vehicle owners who are facing extra toll cuts at Toll Plazas. Now after deducting toll by mistake, the money will be returned immediately. Bengaluru-based WheelsEye has started the facility of instant information alerts and quick refunds for toll cuts through FASTag. For this WheelsEye has partnered with IDFC Bank.

According to WheelsEye, their modern FASTag management system will automatically detect wrong toll cuts and return the money within 3 to 7 days. This process used to take about 30 days after first filing the complaint. The new system is Artificial Intelligence-enabled FASTag administration system

According to a report, over Rs. 70 crore of toll is paid daily from FASTag. A recent survey stated, “In almost 3 percent of daily toll payments, tolls are accidentally overcharged and most vehicle owners are suffering from the error of the FASTag system. Moreover, the problem increases when the hearing is not fast even if the wrong toll is cut.”

An IDFC Bank spokesperson said, “Double / wrong toll cuts have become a bigger problem than anticipated. This initiative will strengthen trust in the FASTag system and also encourage vehicle owners to adopt FASTag.”

WheelsEye spokesman Soneesh Jain said, “Toll collection system is still being implemented. Small mistakes keep coming in technology and vehicle owners have to bear the brunt of it. Our main goal is to minimise the FASTag troubles of truck owners. For this, our team has put together the entire process of returning the money automatically and quickly in just 3-7 days. So far no other company has solved the problem of wrong toll reduction.”
