Hit-and-Run: Bike rider killed on Bannur Road

Mysuru: A bike rider was killed on the spot when a speeding unidentified vehicle knocked him down fatally on Bannur Road here yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Yogesh (24), a resident of Sugganahalli village in Srirangapatna taluk, who was working as a van driver at Mysore Milk Union Limited (MYMUL), Mysuru.

Yogesh was proceeding towards Mysuru on his Honda Shine bike when a speeding vehicle reportedly knocked him down and sped away in front of Vidya Jyothi School on Bannur Road at about 6.15 am resulting in Yogesh suffering serious head injuries. He died on the spot.

Siddarthanagar Traffic SI Urs and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and registered a case besides launching a hunt to nab the driver of the unidentified vehicle.
