Using plenty of incense or aroma sticks to dispel the negative Chi and create a sense of peace soon after an argument can possibly help in restoring the balance.

The minute you walk into a new place, you begin a relationship with that particular environment and get connected to its natural energies. Feng Shui is the art of living in harmony and balance with the energies of one’s environment by harnessing or tapping the positive and powerful energies of that place. This in turn would support and nourish our activities and transform our lives and bring in the fulfilment of our desires. Worldwide fascination with Feng Shui has gained acceptance within the mainstream, but most people do not know what real Feng Shui is all about. Anyone seeking information on Feng Shui faces a deluge of books, articles and programmes, many with confusing and contradictory premises, most of which proclaim “quick fix” solutions.

People are beginning to realise that in order to obtain lasting results, superficial skimming is of no use. Authentic Feng Shui, like Taoism and Chinese medicine, is not based on superstition and requires time, diligent commitment for understanding and mastery of the principles. Feng Shui relies on time-tested mathematical formulas, with recommendations personalised to suit each person’s specific internal and external situation which then work regardless of a person’s belief.

With changing times, the perception about relationships within a home also seems to be getting withered and in many homes the primary cause of unhappiness is due to a complex issue of ego, power, rigidity and anger which brings a crack in the already delicate mother-in-law and daughter-in-law equation.

Southwest sector represents the matriarch’s corner and also symbolises earth element. When excess arguments, unpleasantness and anger exists in a home between the two women, then its time to do a check especially in the SW sector. The advance school of Feng Shui has deduced that clash of elements Wood and Earth is said to activate the irritation between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Each of them being individuals with their own strengths in terms of their personal elements and opinion, they would feel that they are right in their actions from their point of view. With seething anger, misunderstanding and hurt feelings due to past actions still lingering things could only get worse if corrective measures are not taken.

In Feng Shui such arguments can be controlled by the use of  metal wind chimes in certain sectors of the home, placing ceramic Pagoda at the southwest of the living or respective bedrooms which would  smoothen the negative vibes or even placing a small bowl of water in the areas where arguments start to quell the bad energy.

In addition to this, using plenty of incense or aroma sticks to dispel the negative Chi and create a sense of peace soon after an argument can possibly help in restoring the balance. Apart from these Feng Shui methods, keeping aside the hard feelings and ego, attempting genuine overtures of friendship would actually help. After all, being skilful in your interpersonal behaviour towards each other could be far more effective and it could even start with trying to suppress the hostility towards each other by buying a gift.
