Bengaluru:  International Peace University, Germany, has awarded Hon. Doctorate to popular singer Shashidhar Kote, recognising his musical achievements during the Convocation ceremony of the University recently at Pondicherry.

Being a professional singer since 25 years, Kote has given more than 5,000 music programmes and has received wide appreciation. He has received many awards including Gaana Gandharva, Gaana Kogile, Aryabhata Best Singer, Bengaluru Ratna, Karnataka Chethana and Vishwa Manava among others.
