Horticulture students oppose promotion

Mysuru: Nearly 200 students of the College of Horticulture in Yelachenahalli on Hunsur Road, staged a protest at the DC’s Office against promoting Horticulture Assistants (HA) as Assistant Horticulture Officers (AHO).

The students took out a procession from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, Palace North Gate, yesterday and reached the DC’s Office.

They said that HA, who have just passed SSLC, are being promoted, while those with degree in Horticulture are being ignored. They demanded that this anomaly must be set right immediately.

Student leaders K.N. Kiran, Keerthi Shankar, Sanjay, Ambarish, R. Manoj and others participated in the protest.
