Mysuru – The Department of Pre-University Education has instructed Deputy Directors of PU Education (DDPUE) in every district to monitor the hostels of government, aided  and private colleges.

C.Shikha, Director, Department of PU Education, in a circular has stated that the responsibility of running the hostel has been given to the DDPUEs to ensure that all the hostels were being run properly with good infrastructure with no inconvenience to students.

Hitherto only hostels of government colleges came under the control of the DDPUE and now it covers even hostels of aided and private colleges. Accordingly, Teresian College Women’s Hostel on Bannur  Road, Jnanasarovar PU College Hostel, Daksha PU College Hostel in Hootagalli and Nalanda Gurukula PU College Hostel in Periyapatna taluk will come under DDPUE of Mysuru district.

However, sources in DDPUE’s office located at the premises of Maharani’s PU College here claim that they are aware of the Department circular but contended that they had not yet received a copy of the circular.
