Mysuru: House burglars, who gained entry into a house at Jayanagar 2nd Cross by breaking open the rear door of the house, have decamped with gold ornaments and cash yesterday.
The burglary took place at the house of one S.K. Chandrashekar, who had gone out after locking the house at about 11 am yesterday morning.
The theft came to light when Chandrashekar returned at about 8 pm and tried to open the lock of the front door but in vain.
When he went to the rear door, he saw it ajar and on entering the house, he found 160 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 75,000 cash kept in the almirah missing.
The burglars after stealing the valuables and cash had locked the front door from inside and had escaped through the rear door. Chandrashekar lodged a complaint with Saraswathipuram Police.
