It is disheartening to read that online payment of property tax has not been implemented, in spite of the software being available to the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). The plea that Government of Karnataka has not approved it as yet is no excuse. This is the ideal time, when there is a lockdown due to Covid-19 and to mitigate the hardships citizens have to undergo, especially senior citizens, every year to physically line up to pay the tax. 

It seems the authorities are reluctant to implement the online payment due to obvious reasons. When Bengaluru has online payment of property tax since a number of years, why not Mysuru, which at one point was vying to be one of the 100 smart cities?  Citizens of Mysuru must put pressure on MCC to implement it.
