IEEE Faculty Conclave held in city

Mysore/Mysuru: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)- Bengaluru Section had recently organised the first ever ‘IEEE Faculty Conclave’ in Mysuru at NIE Institute of Technology (NIE-IT) in Koorgalli here. 

In his opening remarks, Puneet Kumar Mishra, Chair, IEEE- Bengaluru (IEEE-B) and Scientist, ISRO-ISAC, Bengaluru, provided insights on IEEE and IEEE Bengaluru. He highlighted the activities conducted by Bengaluru section and also spoke about future events to be held at IEEE.  

S.G. Raghavendra Prasad, SAC Chair, IEEE-B and Assistant Professor, ISE Department, RVCE, Bengaluru, spoke about continuing professional education online courses through the IEEE e-Learning Library, society educational offerings and IEEE Certificate programmes. 

IEEE membership benefits and opportunities offered to members were presented by Dr. D.N. Sujatha, SAC Co-Chair, IEEE-B & Professor, MCA Department, BMSCE, Bengaluru. 

Dr. Prashant Mishra, Treasurer, IEEE-B and Scientist, TCS Research and Innovation, Bengaluru, spoke about mobility and its use to solve social problems. Dr. B.D. Parameshachari, IEEE Mysuru  Region Coordinator and Professor and Head, TCE Department, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, spoke on Senior Member Elevation Programme at IEEE.

Concluding remarks were given by Dr. Bindu A. Thomas, Mysuru Region Coordinator, IEEE-B, Professor and Head, ECE Department, VVIET, Mysuru. 

More than 150 faculty members from various Engineering Colleges were present at the event. Dr. Bansilal, Principal, NIE-IT, Mysuru, welcomed. IEEE Faculty Conclave Coordinator and Head, EEE Department, NIEIT, Dr. N.V. Archana proposed a vote of thanks.
