Mysuru: The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), National Museum of Mankind, Mysuru, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is working to promote the Indian Culture, Bio-evolution, Tribal and Traditional Art & Crafts.
The Museum has decided to organise a drawing competition for the school children on the occasion of celebrating 150 years of Gandhi Jayanti. The competition in two categories — 3rd to 6th Standard and 7th to 9th Standard — will be conducted on Oct.13 (Sunday) from 10 am to 1.30 pm at Wellington House, Irwin Road. Each category will be given three prizes along with the certificate. The participation is limited to first 30 members in each category. Interested may contact J. Training Godna Tribal Painting
The Museum will also hold an Education Programme under “Do & Learn” series on Godna Tribal Painting from Chhattisgarh. The training, aimed at popularising the Indigenous Art and Crafts of India, will be given by the well- known artist Shivashankar Markam from Chhattisgarh from Oct. 12 to 21 at Wellington House.
Raw material cost will have to be borne by the participants. The individually prepared items are issued to the participants after the training. Interested may contact Ph: 0821-2448231.
