Illegal sale of liquor during lockdown: Accused arrested; car, liquor seized

Hunsur: Excise Department officials have arrested a person on charges of selling liquor illegally during lockdown and have seized a car and liquor packs from him.

The arrested is 42-year-old Vasanthkumar of Karimuddanahalli village in the taluk. The officials have seized the car (KA-45-M-2827) and about 40 litres of Original Choice 90 ml liquor packs.

Acting on a tip off, the Excise officials conducted a raid and on inspecting the car, the liquor packs were found. The officials immediately arrested the accused, seized the car and liquor packs besides registering a case. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

Rural Excise SP Dr. Mahadevi Bai, Dy.SP Srinivas, Excise Inspector Dharmaraju, Vigilance Squad Inspector Lokesh, Basha, Gopal, Keerthi Kumar and others took part in the raid, nabbing and seizing operation.
