IMF’s Chief Economist Gita Gopinath visits Mysuru

Mysore/Mysuru: The International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Chief Economist Gita Gopinath,  who is on vacation, visited her father’s residence in Ramakrishnanagar in city on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters, she stated that the pandemic has adversely affected the economy as a whole. Tourism industry and agriculture have been badly affected, she stated and urged everyone to get vaccinated.  

Farmer leader Kurubur Shantakumar met Gita Gopinath and greeted her with a bouquet. Gita’s father K.P. Gopinath was also present on the occasion.
