Importance of Centre for Higher Learning & Research stressed

Mysore/Mysuru: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, had recently organised a Seminar on ‘Importance of Centre for Higher Learning and Research.’

Architect D.S. Ramakrishna Rao, Director, Desirazu Associates, Mysuru, was the chief guest and also the resource person for the Seminar. He spoke about the importance of centre for higher learning and research in the context of socio-economic and technological growth.

He also highlighted the footprint and imprint of the ancient Indian education system in all aspects with the matching of Indian culture and historical developments.

He conveyed that the Centres for Higher Learning have been a tradition in the Indian context from Nalanda to the modern day CSIR Institutions. Higher learning today refers to establishing a ‘Repository’ of scientific and technological data. The localisation of global knowledge is the key word taking advantage of the skill sets available in and around the host area. The knowledge base comes from the faculty and students both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to encompass the current skills available and to establish documentation of traditional knowledge and skills.

R.K. Bharath, Board Member and CEO, GSSS, Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, were present. 

Dr. K.S. Gururaj, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, welcomed. Dr. B. Manjuprasad, Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE, introduced the chief guest. Dr. P. Raviraj, Professor, Dept. Of CSE, GSSSIETW, proposed a vote of thanks.
