India F1 Futures $15,000 ITF Men’s Tennis: City’s Suraj, Vasisht enter second round

Mysuru lads Suraj R. Prabodh and Vasisht Cheruku, taking part in the ongoing India F1 Futures $15,000 ITF Men’s Tennis Tournament at Odisha that began on Feb.24, won their first round matches in the Men’s Singles event in the main draw yesterday.

Suraj scored a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win over Chinmay Pradhan, while Vasisht Cheruku beat Ansu Bhuyan 6-1, 6-2 and sailed into the second round in the Men’s Singles event.

Another Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev went down fighting to Manuel Pena Loapez 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 in the first round of Men’s Singles.
