Third edition of ‘Mahabharata Katha Loka’ released

Mysuru: Former Additional Director of Higher Education Department Prof. T.N. Prabhakar said that Ramayana and Mahabharata, the two great Indian epics, are much recognised by scholars across the world.

He was speaking after releasing the third edition of ‘Mahabharata Katha Loka’ written by K.S. Nagaraj, at a programme organised by Akhila Bharatiya Sahitya Parishat at ‘Madhava Kripa’ on JLB Road here on Saturday.

Pointing out that Ramayana and Mahabharata envisage great values in life, Prof. Prabhakar said that the narrative in the two epics can be the basis for public administration.

Noting that the two epics have explained India’s rich culture and heritage in depth, he said that the English translation of the two epics transformed the way European scholars interpreted the epics.

Avadhoota Datta Peetham Junior Pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji graced the occasion. University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Akhila Bharata Sahitya Parishat office-bearers E.C. Ningaraj Gowda and Prof. Sathanur Devaraj, author K.S. Nagaraj and others were present.
