Inspector suspended for receiving money from trainees

Mysore/Mysuru: Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP) Praveen Sood has suspended Police Training School Reserve Police Inspector M. Subramanya for collecting money from the trainees and the suspension order was passed on Aug. 9.

The order has also instructed the officials concerned to collect rent from the date of suspension from the Inspector in case he was residing in the Government quarters.

Following a complaint that the Inspector was collecting money from the trainees, a preliminary enquiry was conducted during which it was confirmed that the Inspector had identified one or two trainees from eight platoons to collect Rs. 2,500 each from every trainee. A total of Rs. 5,90,000 was received by the Inspector through Google Pay and PhonePe, following which the DG-IGP issued the suspension order.
