Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. K.S. Sadanand, Medical Superintendent of Jayadeva Hospital, KRS Road in city has said, along with medicine, the interaction of doctors and nurses with patients, that boosts their confidence level, will be helpful in curing the patients.
He was speaking after inaugurating International Nurses Day celebrations, organised by BGS International Foundation for Health Sciences, at BGS Samskritika Bhavan, Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Mysuru Branch premises at Hebbal in city yesterday.
It is easier to cure the ailments, if the doctors and nurses succeed in understanding the mindset of the patients, said Dr. Sadanand.
Describing nurses as the backbone of hospitals, Dr. Sadanand said, the contribution of all the nurses in keeping the society healthy is indeed unique.
Like the words of Mother Teresa ‘To see God in every patient’, the life of nurses is truly worthy, as they don various hats in treating the patients, as a health educator and counsellor.
The younger generation should take a lead in keeping the professional dignity, by winning the trust of patients, with patience and love, he said.
Following achievers in the field of nursing were felicitated; Retired Principals Dr. Shylaja Kripanidhi, Dr. V.C. Gracy and D.N. Renukadevi and Superintendent of General Hospital, Srirangapatna Rudrappa.
