Sandal Urus Shariff of Hazarath Tipu Sultan held in city

Mysore/Mysuru: The 234th Annual Sandal Urus Shariff of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed, organised by Mysore City (District) Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed Urus and Welfare Committee at Lashkar Mohalla was held at Meelad Bagh on Ashoka Road in city recently.

The event was held under the supervision of Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff and under the Presidentship of MLA Tanveer Sait. Mysore District Waqf Board Advisory Committee President Azeez Ulla Ajju was the chief guest.

The programme began with the recital of verses from the Holy Quran by Imam of Masjid-e-Azam Hazarath Hafiz Mohd. Salman Khadree.

 Khazi of Edhara Shariya Masjid Azam Hazarath Moulana Mufti Shamshul Huda Samadi and Imam of Masjid Aqsa Hazarath Moulana Mohd. Inayathur Rehaman Razvi spoke on the life and regime of Tipu Sultan.

Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed Urus & Welfare Committee Secretary Afroz Pasha presented memento, Tipu Shawl and garland to Ulmas and chief guest. Spokesperson of DCC Minority Department Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi anchored the programme.

Fukras Jamath, Moshayiqin, Sufizam persons, M.F. Jamsheed, Majeed Ahmed, Afroz Khan Addru, Mohd. Khaleel-ur-Rehaman, Majeed Toufiq Khan, Syed Farooq, M.F. Kaleem, Hazarath Dr. Mohammed Arif Warsi, former Corporator Naseeruddin Babu, Radiulla Khan, Khwaja Mohammed Musheer Chishti, leaders and devotees were present.

Later, MLA Tanveer Sait planted coconut saplings inside Meelad Park. Sir Khazi Hazarath Mohammed Usman Shariff of Mysore read Duwa. Afroz Pasha proposed a vote of thanks.

MLA Tanveer Sait carried the Sandal vessel in the procession which passed through Ashoka Road to reach Tipu Circle.
