Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Art Gallery, Ramanuja Road, 12th Cross in the city has organised 91st edition of its interaction with achievers tomorrow (Apr. 13) at 11 am its premises.

Dr. H.T. Shylaja, who has achieved in the field of education, will be sharing her views during the interaction.

Dr. Vijayakumari S. Karikal, Director, Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS), Manasagangothri, will be the chief guest. L. Shivalingappa, Founder-President of Mysore  Art Gallery, will preside over  the event.

Social worker Kalyani Natarajappa, President of Chiguru Samsthe Dr. T.S. Srivalli, Assistant Professor of JSS Women’s College Prof. Pushpalatha, Assistant Professor of JSS College of Arts, Science and Commerce Dr. B.S. Sudeepa will be special invitees.

Profile: Dr. H.T. Shylaja, a recipient of ‘Adarsha Shikshaka’ Award, is the daughter of litterateur Dr. H. Thipperudraswamy, who was among the early writers who created novels out of life stories of Vachana litterateurs Basavanna, Allama, Siddarama, Channabasavanna among several others.

Shylaja, who grew up amidst literary environment, secured Gold Medal in MA from University of Mysore. She did her Ph.D on ‘Literary works of Veerabhadra Devaru’ and worked as a lecturer, gradually decorating various top positions in her 37-year-long service in JSS and other institutions.

She has to her credit autobiography of philosophers, collection of poems, criticism among several other forms of literature. She is involved in reprinting her late father’s literary works, publication of his unpublished works and articles, besides bringing out a felicitation volume.

Shylaja has also taken up the gigantic task of publishing total literary works of her father to mark his centenary in the year 2028.
