International Day of Yoga: ‘Be with Yoga, Be at Home’

DRM exhorts Railway employees to practice Yoga regularly

Mysore/Mysuru: South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Rahul Agarwal inaugurated the International Day of Yoga (IDY) yesterday with the theme ‘Be with Yoga, Be at Home’ by lighting the lamp and garlanding the photograph of Patanjali Maharishi at the Chamundi Officer’s Club in city.  

The televised programme of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, was organised through projector  which commenced with address by Minister of State (Ayush Ministry) followed by the address of the Prime Minister and the common yoga protocol.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Agarwal outlined the benefits of Yoga and exhorted the Railway employees and their family members to regularly practice Yoga.  He explained in detail the benefits of practicing Yoga and its relevance in today’s scenario.  

Additional Divisional Railway Manager A. Devasahayam, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infra & Operations) B. Srinivasulu, few officers and staff attended the function.  

In addition, Mysuru Division organised a photography competition to promote enthusiasm among staff a photography (Best Yoga Pose) among Non-Gazetted Staff.  As part of the Yoga campaign, Common Yoga Protocol video and e-brochure has been uploaded in SWR Mysuru Division website and Facebook. 

The Day was observed in a similar fashion at various Stations and depots over Mysuru Division of South Western Railway, according to a press release from Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi,
