ITF Grade 4 Senior Tennis: Nagaraj wins Singles title

Chennai: Mysuru’s R. Nagaraj, representing India in ITF Grade 4 Seniors Open Tennis Championships held at Chennai from June 25 to 30, won Men’s 55 Plus Singles title.

In the 55 plus Men’s Singles final, second-seeded Nagaraj beat Sharad Tak 4-0 (retd). In semi-finals, he beat Sanjiv Mehra 6-0, 6-0 and in quarter-finals, had a good win over Rajagopalan Krishnamurthy 6-1, 6-1. In pre-quarterfinals, he beat Umashankar Krishnaswamy 6-1, 6-1.

In Men’s Doubles (55 plus) semi-finals, R. Nagaraj & M. Suresh lost to Kannan Kailash & Nirmal Kumar Rajan 3-6, 1-6.
