Ittigegud residents oppose bar

December 14, 2018

Mysuru:  Alleging that preparations were on for opening a bar and restaurant at a residential area in Ittigegud, residents of the locality under the banner of Ittigegud Citizens Welfare Committee staged a demonstration on Tuesday.

Addressing the residents, area Corporator Chayadevi said that Ittigegud is frequented by tourists who visit the Mysuru Zoo located in the area. Also, the road to the famous Chamundi Hill passes through the locality and thousands of tourists from across the country visit the area. As such, opening of a Bar and Restaurant in the area will not only inconvenience the tourists, but also have an adverse effect on the life of local residents, she said.

She urged the District Administration and the Excise Officials not to allow liquor bar in the locality in the better interest of local residents as well as tourists.

Leaders Mahesh, Mahadev and Mohammad led the protest.
