‘Jalapathotsava’ at Chunchanakatte from Aug. 11

Bherya: Minister for Tourism and Sericulture S.R. Mahesh has announced that ‘Jalapathotsava’ would be organised at Chunchanakatte from Aug. 11.

He was speaking after inaugurating a function at Mirle village in K.R. Nagar taluk on Saturday to mark the opening of a new bus shelter, Gram Panchayat Commercial Complex, Anganawadi Centre and Ashoka Pillar.

He said that the ‘Jalapathotsava’ would be inaugurated by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy which also features cultural festival by popular artistes.

Continuing, Mahesh said that necessary steps have been taken to reopen Srirama Co-operative Sugar Factory and added that a meeting in that context would be held with Minister for Industries K.J. George.

Mahesh further said that it has been decided to form a layout in the name of the Chief Minister over an area of 20 acres in K.R. Nagar. Gram Panchayat President Mahadev, Vice-President Ratnamma, JD(S) General Secretary Dhananjay and others were present.
