JD(S) to hold people connect meetings in Mysuru on May 13 and 17

May 11, 2026

Mysuru: As a step towards expanding its base across Assembly segments of the State, the JD(S) will be conducting ‘Janarondige Janata Dal’ public connect meetings in Mysuru on May 13 and 17.

Announcing this at a press meet organised by JD(S) leaders at a private hotel here this morning, Hunsur MLA G.D. Harish Gowda said ‘Janarondige Janata Dal’ will be held under the leadership of State Youth JD(S) President Nikhil Kumaraswamy.

Pointing out that this campaign has already covered 75 Assembly segments across Karnataka since its launch early this year, he said that this initiative is aimed at getting first-hand information on the problems and plight of the people in Assembly segments.

Former Minister and senior JD(S) leader S.R. Mahesh called upon the people to take part in large numbers at the ‘Janarondige Janata Dal’ event at Varuna Assembly Constituency on May 13 and at Chamundeshwari segment on May 17.

Mahesh lashed out at the Government for revoking the suspensions of corrupt and tainted officers. Questioning the re-instatement of senior IPS Officer K. Ramachandrarao, who was suspended for many wrong doings, Mahesh charged the Siddaramaiah Government of shielding corrupt and tainted Officers.

Alleging that the State Government is out to protect IAS Officer Rohini Sindhoori, who is accused of being responsible for many deaths for want of oxygen at Chamarajanagar Government Hospital during COVID crisis and also being involved in cloth bags purchase scam when she served as Mysuru DC, he said all these actions of the Siddaramaiah Government goes to show that the Congress Government is bent on shielding corrupt and undisciplined Officers.

Commenting on his future political plans, Mahesh asserted he was going to contest from K.R. Nagar Assembly segment only and from nowhere else for any reason.

A poster of  JPL-2026 (Janata Dal Premier League) cricket tournament organised to mark the birthday celebration of JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda was released on the occasion. The 3-d ay tournament will be held from May 16 to 18 at Bengaluru.

MLC C.N. Manjegowda, City JD(S) President SBM Manju, District President M. Ashwin Kumar, former Mayors R. Lingappa and M.J. Ravikumar and other party leaders were present.
