JD(U) seeks disqualification of Ambarish as MLA

April 29, 2017

Mandya: JD(U) District President B.S. Gowda has filed a complaint to the Speaker K.B. Koliwad seeking disqualification of Mandya MLA M.H. Ambarish for staying away from his constituency and also for not attending the Assembly Sessions.

Gowda has stated that Ambarish had neglected the constituency ever since he was dropped from the Cabinet by CM Siddharamaiah. The JD(U) has also warned of launching a protest if Ambarish was not disqualified.

The petition has also mentioned that the people of Mandya did want a politician, who was not active in politics, as their representative. B.S. Gowda has also submitted a copy of the petition to Governor Vajubhai R. Vala’s office. It may be recalled that CM Siddharamaiah had met Ambarish at his Bengaluru residence last week and pacified him not to quit the party. Sources said that BJP had approached the veteran actor with an invitation to join the saffron brigade.
