Artificial Intelligence  and Machine Learning Certificate Courses launched

Mysore/Mysuru: Realising  the growing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)  and its significance in the near future, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College is introducing Certificate courses with specialisations in AI and ML from this academic year, specially designed for working professionals and open to all students.

Dr. C.N. Ravikumar, former Dean (Academics) and HoD of Computer Science and Engineering, SJCE and Mentor, AI and ML course, Mahajana First Grade College, in his inaugural address, said, “the new course is a platform to introduce ‘AI for everyone,’ even for non-technical streams to navigate the rise of AI and Machine Learning.”  He opined that the programme is designed for technology professionals who wish to advance their career as a specialist in the field of AI and ML. 

B.G. Mohan Krishna, former Senior Lead Principal, Education and Research, Infosys, Mysuru & Faculty, AI and ML, Mahajana College, in his keynote address, said that there is an increasing need for intelligent and accurate decision-making across industries. This has led to an exponential growth in the adoption of AI and ML technologies and they are expected to remain relevant in years to come. The course modules have been carefully designed to cover mathematical and algorithmic foundations, AI fundamentals and several modules on statistical and ML methods.

He further added, “Artificial Intelligence made headlines recently when people started reporting that Alexa’s unexpected laughter notwithstanding. AI has been a sound career choice for a while now because of the growing adoption of the technology across industries and the need for trained professionals to do the jobs created by this growth. AI is used in almost every industry, yet we have a massive need for qualified, skilled professionals.”

K.R. Ravi, former Technology Lead, Education and Research, Infosys, Mysuru and Faculty, AI and ML, Mahajana First Grade College, said, “As per the statistical report, around 22,000 freshers were added to analytics workforce in India; hiring freshers has increased by 37% and cited an example of 344% increase in job postings in the last few years.” 

“AI is the need of the hour; most industries are looking for graduates who have some knowledge of AI. Job-seekers with AI degrees are well-paid and in high demand,” he added.

T. Muralidhar Bhagavat, President, Mahajana Education Society, presided. Pranamya Bhat rendered the invocation. Shruthy Poonacha welcomed.  K.S. Manjunath, Convenor, AI and ML Course, introduced the guests. A. Radhesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, proposed a vote of thanks. Radhika Rani compered. Dr. S. Venkataramu, Principal, Dr. S. Ramesh, Chief Executive Officer, students and staff were present.
