JSS- STU acting VC Dr. Siddaramaiah passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Siddaramaiah (58), acting Vice-Chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University (JSS- STU) and HoD of Polymer Sciences passed away yesterday evening following heart attack.

He leaves behind his wife Dr. Hemalatha, Professor at JSS Medical College, daughter Chinmayi and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites will be performed at Vidyaranyapuram Burial Grounds after his daughter arrives from abroad on Wednesday.

Dr. Siddaramaiah was a recipient of  Young Scientist Award-1997 in Chemical Science awarded by KAAS, Bengaluru and Sir C.V. Raman Young Scientist Award – 1999 in Chemical Technology by KSCST, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru (2002). He was also the recipient of Project of the Year award three times and Certificate of Commendation award from KSCST, Bengaluru. He and his research team had received Best Paper Award more than twelve times. He had also received Silver Trophy Plasticon Award-2012 in the Best Research category recently.
