Mysore/Mysuru: In a surprising and sudden development, the State Government on Sunday appointed BJP leader from Varuna Assembly segment Ka. Pu. Siddalingaswamy as the new Chairman of State-run KSTDC (Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation), replacing actress Shruthi who was serving as the Chairperson since January 2020.
Siddalingaswamy is a close confidant of Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and had served as his Personal Assistant when BSY became the Chief Minister of the first BJP Government in the State in 2008.
The timing of Siddalingaswamy’s appointment as KSTDC Chairman assumes special significance as it comes at a time when Tourism Minister C.P. Yogeeshwar is leading a campaign to replace Yediyurappa as the Karnataka CM.
