Mysuru: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. B. Manjunathaswamy has said that both Kanadakadasa Jayanthi and Veera Vanite Onake Obavva Jayanthi will be celebrated in a meaningful manner and with grandeur at Kalamandira on Nov. 11. He was speaking at a preliminary meeting held at the DC’s office, to discuss the necessary preparations to be made to celebrate Kanakadasa and Obavva Jayanthis.
Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Department Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, who spoke on the occasion, said that the Jayanthi celebrations will be held at Kalamandira from 12.30 pm onwards and prior to that, a procession will be flagged off from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple premises at the Palace North Gate at 10 am. Art troupes and singers teams will be provided by the Kannada and Culture Department, he added.
Jayantyotsava Samiti leaders, who also spoke on the occasion, suggested that the procession should pass through K.R. Circle, MCC, 100 feet road and Devaraja Urs Road, before reaching Kalamandira. They also demanded that all community students who have scored high marks in the examinations should be awarded Pratibha Puraskar and achievers from all communities should be felicitated on the occasion.
Jayantyotsava Samiti President and former MLA M.K. Somashekar, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairman M. Shivakumar, MCC Deputy Commissioner Savitha, Jayantyotsava Samiti members and many officials were present.
