Kannada Habba-2019: Day-long symposium for farmers at CFTRI

Mysuru: As part of Kannada Habba-2019, Kannada Sahrudaya Balaga of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru in association with College of Horticulture, Yalachanahalli, Mysuru and Horticulture Department, Zilla Panchayat, Mysuru is organising one-day symposium on ‘Food Technology and Value Added Foods’ at IFTTC Auditorium in CFTRI premises here on Nov. 25. 

Participating farmers will be educated on honeybee keeping, Government Policies and other relevant topics as well as demonstration of technology involved in papad-making, chips- making and candy-making.

The symposium will be inaugurated by CFTRI Director Dr. K.S.M.S. Raghava Rao at 10.30 am. Joint Director of Horticulture Department M.H. Nagaraj will be the chief guest. President of Association of Food Scientists and Technologists India (AFSTI) Dr. V. Baskaran will release the Volume 2, 3 and 4 of Namma Aahara Vignana. Dr. G.P. Muthuraj of Horticulture College, K. Rudresh,  Deputy Director of Horticulture Department and B.V. Satyendra Rao, Head of Technology Transfer and Business Development, CFTRI, will deliver technical lectures during the morning session with practical demonstration of honeybee-keeping, papad-making, potato chips-making, and cotton candy-making in the afternoon. Vice-President of Kannada Sahrudaya Balaga Dr. K. Venkatesh Murthy will deliver the valedictory address.
