Karnataka Bandh tomorrow: Hotel owners to extend only moral support

September 27, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Hotel owners of the city have decided to extend only moral support to Karnataka Bandh called by a host of farmer, labour and social organisations tomorrow (Sept. 28) in protest against the  recent amendments to Land Reforms, APMC and Labour Acts, enacted by the Government.

In a press release, Mysuru Hotel Owners’ Association said that hotels come under essential services and the industry is tottering for survival due to COVID crisis.

The hotel industry is yet to look up post-lockdown relaxations.

Hotels, which are bound to provide food for Corona Warriors such as Doctors, Nurses, other Health Workers, Civic Workers and the Police during Corona crisis, are recognised as an essential service along with other listed essential services and goods.

As such, all hotels will remain open on Sept. 28.

The Association, while backing the cause of the farming community, will extend only moral support to the Bandh, the release said.
