‘Home Minister Priyank Kharge looted KIADB land in the name of Siddhartha Buddha Trust’
Mysuru: Former Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha has accused the Karnataka Congress Government of failing to act against the daily influx of hundreds of illegal Bangladeshi migrants into the State, including Mysuru.
Addressing reporters in Mysuru on Tuesday, Simha claimed that despite intelligence inputs about illegal migrants entering Karnataka over the past three months, the State Government had taken no concrete action.
Referring to neighbouring West Bengal, Simha alleged that the issue had escalated during the tenure of Trinamool Congress rule under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He claimed that political developments in that State had prompted many migrants to move elsewhere, with Karnataka emerging as one of their preferred destinations.
“Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar calls them brothers, while Home Minister Priyank Kharge has turned a blind eye to the infiltrator menace,” Simha alleged.
Karnataka safe place
He further charged that illegal migrants were entering Karnataka openly while the Home Minister was focused on issues such as seeking registration and accounts from the RSS.
“Illegal infiltrators are entering the State, but the Home Minister is only concerned about demanding RSS registration and accounts. He has no information about internal security,” Simha said.
Alleging that Karnataka had become a safe zone for illegal Bangladeshi migrants under the Congress Government, Simha claimed that Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana were emerging as major shelters for such migrants.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid employing undocumented workers. “Illegal migrants are being hired for wages as low as Rs. 200 to Rs. 300. People must stop employing them. The State Government cannot guarantee safety; citizens must protect themselves,” he said.
Siddhartha Buddha Trust
Turning his attention to Priyank Kharge, Simha accused the Home Minister of misusing land in the name of the Siddhartha Buddha Trust at Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) sites.
“Why should the RSS, which works for the nation, require registration? Priyank Kharge has looted KIADB land in the name of Siddhartha Buddha Trust and keeps speaking only about the RSS. Has he ever spoken about the State’s security as the Home Minister?” Simha asked.
He warned that the Government’s alleged inaction was encouraging more illegal migrants to enter Karnataka.
On the recent cross-voting episode involving BJP Legislators, Prathap Simha said that the incident had caused disappointment among party leaders, including the State leadership.
“Senior leaders have suggested convening a BJP Legislature Party meeting at Dharmasthala. Decisions will be taken based on their guidance. I have no personal opinion on the matter,” he said.
