Karnataka State U-17 Girls Chess Championship 2019: Mysuru’s Prasiddhi Bhat triumphs

Mysuru girl, Prasiddhi Bhat, taking part in the Karnataka State U-17 Girls Chess Championship-2019 held at Bengaluru from May 24 to 26, won the title with 6.5 points from seven rounds.

Prasiddhi Bhat, coached by GM M.S. Thejkumar at the Mysore Professional Chess Academy,

Mysuru, won her final round match against A. Harshini and clinched the title.

Prasiddhi Bhat (1316 rating) with her performance in this Tournament has added 46.4 points to her rating.

Prasiddhi Bhat, along with Sanjana Raghunath, will represent Karnataka in the U-17 National Girls Chess Championships.

Mysuru girl, Sharadhi S. Shastry secured 5 points and was placed ninth while K.G.R. Anagha of Kalale, Nanjangud taluk, secured 4.5 points and was placed 12th in the final ranking.

  1. Prasiddhi Bhat (6.5), 2. Sanjana Raghunath (5.5), 3. V. Renganayaki (5.5), 4. Swara Lakshmi S. Nair (5.5) and 5. Suhenaa Suma Darshan (5.5).
